Good evening,

The Iranian KM410 (korean made M38 copy) is finished. I add the Warrior figures and finsh the small vignette.
The action takes place during the Iran-Irak war, as the iranian army leaded a counter-offensive in the Khuzestan province for the liberation of Khorramshahr from the Iraqis on 24 May 1982.

I also used the Dust Diggers Pigments on the the vehicle and the ground. The website has just opened :

Good night....

Hello everyone,
It has been a while since my last update. I am being through a tough period in life so.....No more details about that... sorry
Well I finish the mighty mite. the staging is pretty basic but allowed me to realize the last Bravo6 figures.
Another product I want to introduce is the modelling pigments from the new french firm : Dust Diggers. Those are amazing and I will present them soon.
Here are the pics.
THis model will be published in the next Special Issue of steelMasters Mag.
Hope you'll like it.

Today, the hairspray technique wil be discussed.
It's been a long time I wanted to try this technique. The Iranian M38 appears a good opportunity due to its "used look".
After airbrushing a grey primer, I applied the original us army green paint using the zenithal illumination way (the upper areas are lightened and the bottom one are darkened)
(the 106 RR gun receives a coat of satin black)
I sprayed a coat of hairspray. Actually I applied two coats on the parts that I wanted more damaged.
I let it dry for 10 minutes before airbrushing the desert yellow colors (I used 3 shades of yellow).
Another dry time of 10 minutes.
I removed this yellow color by using a lot of water and a small dedicated paint brush.
I noticed that the vallejo paint makes largest chips and is easier to remove than the tamiya paint.
And the more the parts receive hairspray, the easier the paint can be removed.
A coat of Klir is applied to stop the removing process.
Have a nice day.

Hello everyone,

The painting stage begin with a layer of grey primer. For the first time, I used Klir as tamiya thinner.
It gives the paint a very smooth and satin finish.

I applied a very dark green as the marines corps  green base color and airsprayed lights and shadows
to obtain  deep contrats to color.

The first filters are made from oil colors using dark green and dark blue shades
(I noticed that marines vehicle has often some blue reflects)
I also started the figures painting inspired by Andrea Cabios technique.
I am trying to paint the base color and first shades by airbrushing acrylics colors.
(face and other flesh areas has been previoulsy masked with silly putty)

Another jeep, that I began last year.
Originally, the inspiration was given by the Warrior iranian crew.

I found some pictures of this jeep in service in israelian and brazilian army. I also had a new information about this vehicle :
this is the M38A1 korean copy named KM410.

(Source : http://www.warwheels.net/M38A1CRRjeepHAUGH.html)

Be that as it may, I intend to represent this model on a small base, maybe a mountain area.

Not special advice about this kit, it took me an afternoon to assemble it, the general detail and quality is excellent and I chose to build it out of the box.

Have a nice.

Hello everybody,

Let's talk about the first jeep in use by the USMC in Vietnam.

(src : internet)

This jeep was designed to be "aerotransportable" by the sikorsky H34. As the UH1 series (with a largest weight capacity of transport) entered in service, this jeep was replaced by the most known M151 Mutt and M38 jeep.

This tiny vehicle, recently released by Plus Model, appears a great original Nam subject.

The resin kit is absolutely amazing, in the top 5 of the best resin kits I ever built !
The instruction sheet seemed sometimes unclear but I checked  some part adjustment helping by  the built model pictures availabled on the Plus Model website.
As you would notice, I didn't need putty !!!!
The diorama scenario will be basic with some of excellent Bravo6 figures.....
To be continued !

Good evening,

I am very pleased to open a new gallery where you can get
an idea of Franck Bazin's talent.
This french modeller is known for his diorama designing.
His latest release (that you can see in the report) has also received a gold medal in 2009 in Saumur.
I take this occasion to precise that Franck is part of the AMAC 35 club from Rennes (Britanny).  I appreciated the company of its members in Saumur. You missed the poolroom  and the beers guys !!

The diorama of the gallery is a panther in Normandy in 1944 and was published  in the defunct french magazine Model.

Context of the diorama:
A “Pz-Lehr.Regt 130"  Panther is taking ambush position in the early morning of 25 July 1944 south of the St Lô- Périers road. At the same time, the first wave of allied fighter-bombers marks the launch of "Operation Cobra".

Therefore German tankers seem upset about what would comes from above.....

Kits used:
Panther A Dragon (ref 6160)
Detailing: Aber, Show modeling-, scratch.
Zimmerit made of Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Quick Type)
Tracks from Modelkasten"
Figures: Scratchbuilt, Hornet, Warrior and Dragon heads.

Hi everyone,

I'm back from my California trip and all set to return at my worbench. I updated the galleries with the Saumur show report.
You will find  photos of the competition and also those of the dynamic presentation of tanks.
If the Saumur contest has been much discussed in the past, it seems that this issue marks a turning point.
This year, the ruling on the competition entries wasn't discussed, although the classification in the category "single armored WWII" could surprise some people (I part ....)
My FCM 2C was unfortunately unplaced but the trainin' in the rain stryker gave me a gold medal.....
Anyway this issue was marked by the quality and number pieces.
Hope you enjoy the photos .
I would be back soon with a lot of goodies ......
Take care
